Four different meanings of free
| Route | What is verified | What not to assume |
|---|---|---|
| Consumer Muse app | The official download page describes a free mobile app | Unlimited access to every model or paid feature |
| Meta Model API | Published usage-based tariffs | A guaranteed free token allowance |
| Muse Code | Documented subscription and pay-as-you-go options | That installing the CLI includes paid inference |
| Open-weight release | Some releases provide downloadable weights | Zero hosting or operations costs |
Follow the official download guide for the consumer route. Your region, account and current offer determine which app features are available. This guide does not promise a trial credit, promotional code or a way around an eligibility check.
Is there a free Wonder API?
The current public pricing page lists a paid Wonder tariff. We did not verify a permanent free Wonder API tier or a universally available credit offer. Use the provider dashboard to inspect offers tied to your account; an online article cannot establish your entitlement.
The local calculator is free to use and requires no key, but it does not call Wonder. A zero-dollar calculator estimate for zero usage is arithmetic, not evidence that a billable model request costs nothing.
Do subscriptions replace usage billing?
A Muse Code subscription applies to the credential connected through Code onboarding. Additional API keys are billed pay-as-you-go. If you are building your own product, do not assume a consumer app subscription or a Code plan makes that backend free.
Separate a development experiment, recurring production API traffic and a personal coding workflow into different budgets. That makes a trial allowance visible as a temporary credit rather than an ongoing business model.
Check an offer before relying on it
- Identify the exact application, model, provider and account receiving the offer.
- Read the credit amount, expiration, eligibility and billing conditions.
- Check whether a payment method or automatic renewal is involved.
- Keep a spend cap and an exit plan for when a promotion ends.
- Do not submit keys to third-party “free API” forms merely to test a claim.
For local deployment, evaluate Spark Open or Glimmer instead of treating a hosted-model price page as a weight download. Owning a checkpoint changes where inference runs; it does not eliminate the resources needed to run it.
